When you battle an illness for so long people understand that energy becomes a precious commodity. But seldom do they think about what the day to day struggles do for one's self-esteem. Value and purpose of life seems to decrease as exhaustion increases. On days you feel like this remember, that to others... You are an example of patience, strength, and courage. And someone I greatly admire! Exodus 9:16 (NIV)

Being a caregiver is one of the most unselfish acts a human being can do. At a moments notice your life is put on hold while you fulfill the needs for another. Sometimes the hardest thing is to find the balance between what they need to stay healthy and what you need to stay strong. I'm here whenever you need me to help carry the load And to remind you that even when you're too tired to pray, just be still... For even in silence, God will hear every word in your soul. Romans 8:26-27 (NIV)
God has always known what's been inside of you; and I thought I did too But as I watch you care for your mom (dad) I see a depth of grace, strength, and compassion emerge like I've never seen before I witness just how hard it is for you to lay down your life for another And because you do, God's workmanship is revealed... A piece of art, with rare and amazing qualities. Psalm 139:15-16 (NIV)
(When ordering select "female" for "mom" and "male" for "dad" card. You can have "mom" or "dad" changed to "aunt" or "uncle", etc. at no charge. Notify me of change request via email after odering)
God gave hindsight 20/20 vision so you can look back on your life and see How perfectly He has guided you; how often He has listened to you how completely He has provided for you And because hindsight shows how God has always sustained you, you can now have peace... and the confidence, courage, and strength to move forward into battle.
Psalm 63:7-8
Definitions change when a person lives with chronic illness. Getting out of bed every morning isn't waking up, it's strength. Accomplishing the necessary chores of the day isn't housework, it's perseverance. Needing rest isn't taking it easy it's recouping. Doing this day after day isn't a routine it's overcoming. And because you prevail people see that God's power is real.
Ruth 2:12 (NIV)
These last few months I've watched you grow from a woman of ability, hope, and faith Into a woman possessing abundant confidence, courage, and strength. I have always been proud of you, but now I'm also amazed and blessed Because I know that God has allowed me to see... the person He's always known you to be.
Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV)
(Order card for "male" to have "man" written on card)
Hope sustains us during times when others would crumble and gives us the freedom to dream of what might be. It gives us peace during trials and courage when we have fear. Hope is not false and it's never in vain; no hardship can consume us when it's used as a weapon in battle. Hope is strength and it's the confident expectation that anything is possible. But above and beyond all this... hope is the power of God
2 Corinthians 9:14 (NIV)
that's alive within you.
This whole experience of dealing with your cancer has been such testimony that God's Word is true. When you were able to accomplish things throughout your day you proved that we can be "struck down, but not destroyed." And when the effects of the chemo made it difficult to endure we saw that God truly did "not leave nor forsake you". Your last chemo treatment is finally done and we have the woman we love still with us, safe and sound. Ready to go out into the world, not as you've done before... but as a new creation; a conqueror who's been touched by God.
Malachi 4:2 (NIV)

Needing rest as you battle this illness is not a sign of weakness. It's your body helping you regain the energy you've lost since this journey began, And conserving the strength you have left for the fight ahead. But most importantly, it's the time God wants you to be still... while He whispers to your soul. Matthew 11:28-29 (NIV)
Not everybody goes through the same illness but the emotions are still the same. Anger threatens to hold your joy hostage. And you barely recognize the person staring back at you from the mirror. Your heart breaks from the weight of the depression And suffering slowly forces you into a life of isolation. You're taunted by the thought that God has left you, but He has not! He is all around you... He is love from a friend, and compassion from a stranger. He is rest and He is the starlight that brings beauty to your night. Psalm 147:3-5 (NIV)
Every once in a while you realize there's someone in your life who's been teaching you so much about living. That person, for me, is you. From you I've learned that no matter what life has in store, it can be handled with grace and kindness. And no matter what we face, the Holy Spirit will bless us with endurance and strength. Through you I've seen that no only are we "more than conquerors" over any illness and strife But when we truly believe, we become living proof... that the power of God's word is alive and true.
